How it all began

William and Sylvia Soto were a couple with a dream—a dream to raise, teach, and inspire children. Mrs. Soto served the community that gave so much opportunity to her. She worked as an attendance clerk at Memorial High School and as a secretary at Loma Park Elementary School for 10 years. Mr. Soto proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, and after his service in the military, he went on to teach for 32 years at Storm, Barkley, and Sarah King Elementary Schools. In 2003, they were able to make their dream a reality and opened Happy Child Childcare Learning Center.

Meet our director

Meet our director, Ms. Jeanette Esquivel. She started off her childcare career working at her friend's mother's daycare in middle school, 1984. Then, she continued her pathway in the childcare industry, working as a teacher's assistant in the San Antonio Independent School District in 1987. After that, Ms. Jeanette continued her career by opening up her home base, but she knew that her passion for the childcare industry was too big for her home daycare, and in 2003, she became our first and only Happy Child Childcare director and is still spreading her love for the childcare industry. She has 2 amazing children, Jacob Delgado and Jordan Delgado, and is a UT Austin fan for life. HORNS UP!
